As it often happens, we all forget passwords to various accounts and devices. If you are the happy owner of a Galaxy Note 5, you have 3 ways to unlock your device when not remembering your password. Here is the Password Buddy 3-step tutorial on how to unlock your Galaxy Note 5. Be sure to check our guide on Note 4 as it’s best to try everything out there before resorting to extreme solutions like a factory reset.
Step 1: Note 5 Password Recovery with Android Device Manager
This step only applies to those who have installed Android Device Manager before forgetting their password. If you have registered with it all you have to do is go to your computer or laptop. There, locate Android Device Manager, find your Note 5 and enable Lock & Erase.
The Device Manager then guides you to lock your phone, set a temporary password and voila: you can use that temporary password to unlock your phone and establish a new and unforgettable password.
Step 2: Note 5 Password recovery with Find My Mobile
This step only applies to those that have registered their phones with Samsung (and if you haven’t already, you need to do it now!).
Once registered, use the Find My Mobile feature to simply reset the password and create a more memorable one with which you can unlock your phone.
Step 3: When Nothing Else Works…
Well, this also happens a lot and if it comes to this there’s nothing to do but accept your fate. When a Factory Reset is needed, all your data will be lost. But then again, you are left with the task of creating new fantastic pictures and rethinking your relationship with this awesome piece of technology.
Turn off Note 5, press+hold Volume up and Home and Power (all 3 simultaneously. When prompted, use the volume key to navigate down to wipe data/factory reset and select it with the Power button. After this procedure, your Note 5 will restart and be as new. Take comfort in the new-note-5 ‘smell’ and start your journey together once again…
