To be able to reset a forgotten Outlook password users need to go to the Microsoft password recovery page. This dedicated page authenticates and allows you to change the password for your Outlook.com Email Address. Considering you have the information to authenticate your account, the entire process should not take you more than a couple of minutes.
Step-1: Go To Microsoft Account Password Recovery Page
Simply Click Here to go to the Microsoft password recovery page.
Step-2: Select “I’ve Forgotten My Password” And Click Next
Once at the page, you will notice that there 3 sign-in issues listed. Select I’ve Forgotten My Password and click Next.
Step-3: Enter Your Outlook Email Address And The Security Code
In this step, you need to enter your Email address in the appropriate blank field. You also need to type in the displayed security code to prove that you are not a robot.
Step-4: Select A Way To Receive The Security Code (We Chose Email) And Click Next
The next page gives you a few option on ways to receive authentication security code. If have an alternate Email address setup for your Outlook account then it will get displayed in the options. Select an option that’s most convenient and then click Next.
Step-5: Retrieve Security Code And Enter It
Now, if you have selected Email in the previous step then check your alternate Email address for a new mail sent from Microsoft. This mail should contain a security code. Once you have the code, go back to the password recovery wizard and enter the code. Click the blue Next button to move on to the final step.
Step-6: Create New Outlook Password
Create a new Outlook password by typing it and then re-typing it in the two blank fields. Click Next to complete the password reset process successfully.
